  1. How do you qualify to swim at the Divisional Meet?

    The top 3 swimmers in every event swim at Divisionals.  However, swimmers can only swim 2 individual events and 2 relays

  1. How do you qualify to swim at Metros?

    There are cutoff times for each event.  Swimmers must meet the qualifying times at any meet during the season.

  1. How do you qualify to swim at the Regional Meet?

    Blair can only place 2 swimmers in each event at Regionals.  Again, swimmers can only swim 2 individual events and 2 relays.

  1. How do you qualify to swim at the State Meet?

    The top 6 finishers in each event at the Regional Meet qualify for the State Meet.  After the top finishers from each region are seeded, the next 10 fastest times in each event will also qualify.

  1. How do you earn a varsity letter?

    If a swimmer has been on the team for two whole years, or has represented Blair at the Regional Meet he/she will earn a varsity letter.  If a swimmer has already earned a varsity letter in swimming, he/she will earn a pin.  Divers who compete in at least 4 dual meets and Divisionals will earn a letter.

  2. What is the difference between the Winter Sports Awards Ceremony and the Blair Swim and Dive Team Banquet?

    The Swim and Dive team banquet is just for the swimming and diving teams and their families.  It is organized at a local restaurant or club, and there is a fee to attend.  We celebrate the season and accomplishments of all the swimmers and divers. The Winter Sports Awards Ceremony is for all Blair winter sports team.  It takes place at Blair and recognizes each team’s Most Valuable Player, Most Improved, and Outstanding Senior.
